Some of you may be hesitant to contact the Educational Technology Department when you are having trouble with your Moodle related technology simply because you feel your problem is too small. Perhaps you are intimidated by the vast knowledge and skill of the Moodle Ninja.
Well, even the Moodle Ninja has troubles at times. Just this morning I plugged my printer cable into my laptop to print a paper that was due in my 9:00 AM class. When I executed the proper <CMD+P> shortcut to print, my printer was nowhere in the selection menu. So, I unplugged it and tried again. And again. Still nothing. Powered the printer off and on. Nothing. Powered the computer off and on. Nothing.
(At this point I am stressing a bit because I have to leave soon for class.)
One more try with <CMD+P> for good measure....nothing.
A final examination of my set up revealed the problem. I had plugged the USB cable into the Ethernet port!
